More about herbs...
For centuries, herbs have been used in a variety of ways.
Bay crowns covered bald spots on the heads of Roman dignitaries. Rosemary was given as a gift at weddings in Elizabethan times. Sage was said to improve memory and to have teeth and gum strengthening properties. This herb guide will hopefully give you some insight into the origins and uses (both past and present) of the herbs we grow, along with some agricultural information to assist you in growing your own.
In today’s world, herbs have maintained an important place in the culinary, medicinal, and fragrance arenas as well as adding beauty to our landscapes.
With this herb guide we invite you to travel back in time to see where it all began, and where it is today.
Many of our customers who have tried herb plants from other growers have come back proclaiming “your plants hold up so much longer and are so much more healthy
than others!”
There are some very definite reasons for that fact. First, and foremost, we mix our own soil from an organic compost base which we steam sterilize. We then add fibroush peat and the only natural fungus retardant known today. To this we add our own organic fertilization so that our plants are nourished in a rich fungus free soil base which is just right for berbs to flourish!
